A lot of young girls like me are struggling with finding clothes. This all started when I found my own style I’ve never been a girly girl so I liked t-shirts not dresses and blue or green colours not pink and purple, but still to this day there is no gender neutral clothing... that fits both genders or is good quality. I like clothing designed for boys way more--it’s comfier, better quality and has way more options like bigger pockets! So I have to go to the boy's section to find clothes but then I feel all confident in my new clothes and someone misgenders me just because I’m wearing so-called clothing that is for "boys."
Here’s a quick story: my friend wanted to get some camo pants. She was 11 at the time and the only pair of camo pants she could find that fit her were pink with purple camo print and two sparkly silver stars on her ankles. She just wanted a pair of green camo pants. Now for the girls who like lace, ruffles, sparkle, unicorn and pink they have lots of options.
Now don’t even get me started on all the clothing for girls that is so sexualized like “Daddy’s princess," "baby girl," and even "sorry boys my dad says no dating."
To end my rant.... why can’t girls clothing options have more variety?!? I’m with this girl who wrote to Old Navy to complain about tiny or fake pockets! Bring on a new generation of clothing whether you are a she, a he, or a they!
